One of the biggest problems with having a cottage wedding is that if you've chosen a spot far from your guests Brampton homes, you'll need to find somewhere for all of your guests to stay. If the town or village you've chosen is very isolated, there may not even be a major hotel that can accommodate everyone at once. In this sort of situation you may have to pare down your guest list, but not if you can find enough inns and bed and breakfasts to accommodate everyone.

Inns and bed and breakfasts in cottage country are usually small, family-run affairs. Many will not even have a web presence, so before you decide there aren't enough accommodations in cottage country and that you'll have to have your wedding in your own North York real estate, take a look at the phone book, the hotelier's listings, or travel up to the town and check out what there is available. There may be a surprising number of places you'd never have found online.

Because bed and breakfasts are family run affairs, the proprietors are often more than willing to work with you on creating a package that your guests find convenient and affordable. The interiors will still be more rustic than the Toronto condo rental your city friends are used to, but you may be able to arrange special concessions such as internet access for them if you talk to the owner. You should also be able to get some sort of a group rate if your guests will be taking over the whole establishment.

Being reasonable, accommodating, and grateful is key to dealing with small town inn and bed and breakfast proprietors. These people are not members of Sutton Realty Toronto and will not allow themselves to be forced to bend over backwards for an uppity city snob. Instead, become their friend. Compliment their establishment. Make them like you. This will make them want to help you have the perfect wedding.

Make sure you book early if your wedding coincides with tourist season, as cottage country tends to fill up fast with people on vacation from their Vaughan houses. Most even book for next year as they're leaving this year. Of course, booking on the off season has its own problems, as you may have to convince the inn owners who have not gone off the Florida to open up for you for a few days.
